Docker
The Docker panel talks to the Docker engine on your machine, so you can see and control the containers your project depends on without leaving the IDE.
Docker is a PRO feature and needs a desktop platform. It is not available on Android or iOS.
Requirements
Docker must already be installed and running. Genexy does not install or start the engine; if it is not reachable, the
Docker view says so instead of showing an empty tree. It uses your local Docker context, the same one the docker
command would use in a terminal.
Sections
The strip under the header summarises the engine: running and total containers, images and their size, volumes and Compose stacks. On Windows a WSL badge shows when the engine runs inside WSL.
| Section | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Containers | Every container grouped by state, with its image, Compose project, status and ports |
| Images | Local images with their tags and size |
| Networks | Docker networks, with an inspect view for their configuration |
| Volumes | Named volumes |
| Compose | Compose projects on the machine, grouped by project |
Each section collapses independently, and the filter box narrows all of them at once, including by port.
Actions
- Containers: right-click a row, or use its ⋮ button, for every action. A Compose service gets Up, Up (detached), Up with rebuild, Recreate, Pull image and Down; every container Start or Restart, Pause / Unpause, Stop and Kill, then Live logs in a terminal, Log snapshot, Shell, Stats, Processes, Inspect, Open for each published TCP port, copying the name, ID or image, and Remove. Expanding a container shows its image, status, creation time, ports (a TCP port opens in the browser) and ID.
- Images, Networks, Volumes: inspect where it applies, and remove.
- Compose: Live logs, Start (up -d), Restart and Stop (down) for a project.
- Prune: the broom that appears when you hover a section header removes what is unused in it; for images you choose between dangling only and all unused.
Destructive actions ask for confirmation first, a running prune can be cancelled, and it reports what it reclaimed when it finishes.
Prune and remove act on the whole Docker engine, not only on the containers belonging to the open project. A volume you remove takes its data with it, and that cannot be undone.
