Install Genexy IDE

On the Download page , choose Genexy IDE and your platform. Check the system requirements first.

Most platforms offer two ways to get the same build: an installer, which puts Genexy into the system the usual way, and a portable archive, which you only unpack and run, handy when you cannot or do not want to install anything. Where both are listed, pick either one.

Because Beta builds change frequently, the Download page is the source of truth for which builds exist for the current version. Do not rely on a build downloaded earlier once a newer one is published.

Desktop

Windows
Run the installer and follow it through. If you prefer not to install, unpack the portable build and start Genexy directly from the extracted folder.

macOS
Pick the build for your Mac (Apple silicon or Intel), open the DMG and move Genexy IDE to Applications. If macOS blocks the first launch, allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

DMG

Linux
On Debian and Ubuntu, install the .deb package. On other distributions, use the AppImage, which needs no installation. The portable ZIP keeps Genexy in your own directory instead of installing it system-wide.

Mobile and tablet

Android
Install Genexy from Google Play using the link on the Download page. Android tablets install the same build. If it is not available on Google Play for you yet, we give you access as a tester.

iPhone and iPad
Install Genexy from the App Store using the link on the Download page; iPhone and iPad install the same app. If it is not available on the App Store for you yet, we give you access as a tester through TestFlight.

Genexy is not on Google Play or the App Store yet? Write to us on the Genexy Discord and we will give you access to the test version for testers.

Verify the download

The Download page shows the SHA-256 checksum of the file under the download button, with a button to copy it. For the other formats of the same build (.zip, .deb…) the checksum is in the tooltip of their button. After downloading, compute the checksum of the file you received and confirm it matches. A mismatch means the file is incomplete or has been tampered with, so download it again.

Run the command for your operating system in the folder containing the downloaded file, replacing the version, architecture and language with those of the file you downloaded:

# Windows (PowerShell) Get-FileHash .\Genexy-IDE-<version>-x64-en-us.msi -Algorithm SHA256
# macOS shasum -a 256 Genexy-IDE-<version>-darwin-arm64.dmg
# Linux sha256sum Genexy-IDE-<version>-amd64.AppImage

Compare the printed hash with the checksum on the Download page. They must be identical, ignoring letter case.

Verify the installation

After the first launch the Free features are available immediately, without signing in. Sign in with your account when you want the PRO features as well; the activity bars then show what your account may use. If the IDE looks emptier than this documentation, see Troubleshooting.
