Windows

The IDE renders through the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Windows 11 includes it and current Windows 10 installations get it through Windows Update. The installer does not bring it along, so if Genexy starts with an empty window, install the WebView2 Runtime  from Microsoft.

Linux

The IDE uses GTK 3 and WebKit2GTK 4.1. What you need depends on the package:

PackageNeeds on the system
.debNothing extra; apt installs GTK 3 and WebKit2GTK 4.1
AppImageOnly a desktop session; GTK 3 and WebKit2GTK are bundled
Portable ZIPlibgtk-3-0 and libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0

The .deb package is tested on Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 12, the AppImage on Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and Fedora 40. Linux builds are currently x86_64 only.

Tools Genexy works with

Some features use separate programs that are not part of the IDE and have their own requirements. They are available on desktop only.

  • AI agents, language servers and debug adapters: Genexy detects installed ones and can install them for you.
  • Docker: must already be installed and running; Genexy does not install it.
